Welcome to Society South
Not long ago I mentioned a few rules that I have for side projects. You have to find one that doesn't interfere with your family life and is something totally different than your day job. Normally, I won't write about a few of the side projects that I have done on here but this is an exception. For the last year or so, I've been doing a bit of side writing for an upcoming southern lifestyle website called Society South. The site has been in development for quite a long time but as of last week, it's finally live.
What's my role? No, I didn't help build it or have input on the design. Before you even ask, I haven't helped develop any social media strategy for the site. I'm actually one of 15 contributors to SocietySouth.com, all who give input on places to eat, what to wear or cool spots to visit here in The South. I'm contributing short articles in their "Etc." category, writing snippets about the coolest apps, gadgets or interesting digital trends out there.
The writing hits a passion point of mine (technology) but isn't social media heavy in focus at all. I get to spend my spare time finding some of the coolest trends and giving my two cents.
Check it out. I love the site and the leadership team for it is dedicated to having great content on there. It's been a fun project that I plan to keep dabbling in for a while.
