Up-and-Coming Digital Marketer? Come Work With Me!

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about my new role leading digital marketing at a global law firm. One of the more fun parts of the job? Bringing on new teammates!

Why would a rising digital marketer want to work at a law firm?

I posted about my own experience, which is a good look at a digital marketer’s perspective at legal marketing.

To be totally transparent, it’s been much more interesting than I anticipated going into this experience. Womble Bond Dickinson isn’t just any law firm. It’s a global law firm that does a lot of interesting work in technology, privacy and intellectual property. If you have any interest in the tech space, legal is a really fascinating spot to watch how discussions about privacy and security play out.

We also get to work closely with colleagues over in the UK, where we have offices in places like London, Edinburgh, Bristol and others. This is my second company working with British counterparts and it’s always a great learning opportunity to see how marketing differs so much between our two countries. Not to mention, you get to work with a law firm during Brexit…opportunities coming out of that will be far from boring.

An Opportunity To Dabble

The one thing about digital marketing, that’s both fun and challenging, is navigating all the existing and rising channels in the space. Especially earlier in your career, it’s hard to nail down what area you like the most and want to specialize in. This role will provide someone the opportunity to really dabble in a lot of areas in digital: social, web, SEO, ABM, marketing automation, etc. Some areas of digital we’ll be building from the ground up, which provides the opportunity to not just own something…but to build something at scale. The exposure to a lot of different areas of digital will provide whomever joins us the ability to discover what they love most in digital and eventually lean into it as a specialty.

Other Perks

What are some of the other perks of working at Womble Bond Dickinson?

  1. Great office space in Atlantic Station

  2. A really great team of people to work with every day; the Atlanta office is really fun

  3. Great work/life balance

  4. Opportunity to work for a global brand, one of the top 100 law firms in the world

  5. Have a lot of responsibility very quickly

What Am I Looking For?

First off, someone passionately curious about marketing. If you love to learn and are a self-starter in terms of staying on top of both best practices and new trends in digital strategy, you’re a great fit. Digital is a rapidly changing space and it’s a team effort to stay ahead of the game.

Proactive people should also apply. We aren’t looking for order takers. Our team is looking for someone who wants to grow into the role of a strategic partner. If you are the type of person who sees an opportunity to get something done and does it, we’d love to have you.

Also, highly organized. We are one marketing team serving a lot of attorneys and numerous sectors and service lines. It’s like we’re an internal agency with a lot of clients. There’s plenty to juggle and a lot of projects going on in tandem. If you have the ability to stay on top of deadlines, dot your Is and cross your Ts, this is for you.

I’m In! What’s Next?

If you’re interested, feel free to contact me directly. I’m happy to take your resume direct and setup a conversation. If this isn’t for you but you know someone who would be a great fit? Feel free to make an intro or send me their name! Happy to connect with the marketing community here in Atlanta.
